I’ve been personally influenced by many healthcare professionals, military personnel, law enforcement officers, firefighters, EMS professionals, and educators in my life. A simple “thank you” has always been said, but these people deserve more than that. When I learned there was a way to reward local clients for their service through Homes for Heroes, I knew I wanted to be the connection between our local community and the program. I feel that’s the least I can do to say “thank you” in a much more meaningful way than I’ve ever been able to in the past for what our local first responders, military personnel, educators, and healthcare professionals do for us.
Being a first responder for over 30 years, I can personally say the extra “thank you” is appreciated. I know firsthand the work so many of these professionals do every day, often with little recognition.
Tony's Fire Service Bio and family's history:
I’ve been an active firefighter/EMT since 1996. I’ve worked as a full-time Captain for the Oregon Fire Department since 2001. My wife, Lisa, has been a paramedic firefighter for over 20 years and works as a full-time paramedic (Deputy Chief) for Deer-Grove EMS. My mother was a nurse in Madison for more than 35 years, and my father was a professor at the University of Wisconsin–Madison for over 30 years. My family and I are dedicated to giving back to the professions we’re familiar with and care deeply about.
